Proposals are invited for Country-Based Support Scheme (CBSS) in Sudan under European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR). The mission of this program is to strengthen the role of civil society in promoting human rights and democratic reform, in supporting the peaceful conciliation of group of interests and in consolidating political participation and representation.
Objectives-
- Enhancing civil society participation to public policies
- Enhancing awareness-raising and education of the youth on human rights values, civic education and training on IT dissemination of such values using the social media
- Access to justice for vulnerable groups (notably women, children and people with special needs) through advocacy for the respect of the rights of such groups, legal counsel and legal representation for these groups
- Capacity-building for human rights CSOs with the aim to develop a common strategy and improve coordination of their activities in promoting and protecting human rights
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 1.400.000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 18 months nor exceed 24 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be a legal person
- be non-profit-making
- be specific types of organisations such as: civil society organisations, including non-governmental organisations; community based organisations, institutions and organisations, and networksNational Human Rights Commissions and Parliamentary bodies; and third level academic institutions
- be established in Sudan, in a Member State of the European Union or of an accession or official candidate country , or a Member State of the European Economic Area
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- be able to demonstrate to have regularly carried out activities in the field of development of the kind covered by this programme, proving their capacity to manage activities of a scale corresponding with the size of the grant requested
