Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Regional Civil Society Drylands Governance Facility is inviting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) within the IGAD regions for grant proposals for the IGAD CSO Facility. The program aims to support CSOs within the IGAD region to engage effectively with regional environment, water and natural resource governance issues in order to promote resilience in the drylands and to participate effectively in the IDDRSI.
The project must be completed within six to 17 months (by the end of 2015).
Eligibility Criteria –
- IGAD Region NGOs, CSOs and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. IGAD Region countries are – Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan and Somalia.
- Organizations or entities which preferably have longer term commitment to develop the project and the proposed intervention are eligible for the grant.
- The applying CSO/NGO shall be a legal entity of CSO/NGO organization established in accordance with National laws or has mandate to operate nationally or regionally in IGAD countries.
- Applicants must have sufficient technical and institutional capacity for the correct and smooth implementation of the project.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate a track record of implementation of similar types of projects.
- Applicants must have basic financial management and report writing skills.
- Applicants preferably have the capacity to implement cross border interventions and partnerships that bring together a range of well organized CSOs.
- Application is preferably a consortium (maximum 3 partners) to leverage on capacities, economies of scale, regional integration and comparative advantage of the region.
- Applying organization work within the defined intervention and priority areas of work.
