Australia Awards Africa (AAA) is currently seeking applications for the Long-Term Awards (LTA) Masters Degree 2013 under the Australian Development Scholarship Program from eligible Tanzanian candidates.
Priority Fields of Study
Priority Fields for Tanzania are: Agriculture/Food Security, Natural Resources Management including mining, Public Policy (related to Trade/International Trade, Diplomacy), Public Sector Reform (including Financial Management, Human Resource Management & Public Program Planning), Water & Sanitation
Eligible Sectors: applications may come from applicants employed in: the Public Sector; the Private Sector; and the Civil Society Sector.
Eligibility and Desired Profile
The AAA targets certain types of applicant. Applicants that meet the following criteria will be considered:
- You are a national of Tanzania.
- You are an early or mid-career professional working in an eligible sector, in one of the listed priority fields.
- You must not be more than 50 years of age at the date of your application.
- You must have at least three (3) years’ post-graduation work experience. This work experience must be in a role relevant to your proposed field of study and to your employment organisation type (e.g. public sector applicants should demonstrate public sector work experience, and so on). Preference will be given to candidates with greater periods of experience.
- You possess, as a minimum, a Bachelors degree (or the equivalent). Holders of Humanities and Social Sciencesdegrees must have a minimum mark of at least a Second Class Upper (2:1, or “B”, or the equivalent average mark). Holders of other Sciences Degrees must have at least a Pass or the equivalent.
- You wish to undertake a Masters degree in Australia in one of the listed priority fields of study.
- You have a clear vision for how you will use the knowledge gained through the Masters degree to improve policy, practice or education in the proposed field of study.
Please supply evidence of English proficiency. The AAA has a minimum English proficiency requirement equivalent to an overall IELTS score of 5.0 with no individual band score lower than 4.5. TOEFL results are also accepted.
