The United States Agency for International Development Mission in Tanzania (USAID/Tanzania) invites US and non-US non-governmental organizations for the implementation of the Community Health and Social Welfare Systems Strengthening Activity in the United Republic of Tanzania (URT). The major purpose of the program is to strengthen community health and social service systems in order to improve health, well-being and protection outcomes for HIV affected and other most vulnerable populations in Tanzania by creating more accessible, higher quality health and social services for HIV affected and other most vulnerable populations in targeted communities.
Program Objectives to be achieved by the end of five year implementation period:
- Improved environment for community health and social services
- Higher performing human resources for community health and social services
- Expanded and improved health and social service coordination and service models
Eligibility Criteria:
- US private voluntary organizations (US PVOs), Tanzanian or other non-US non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or private, non-profit organizations (or for-profit companies willing to forego profits), including universities, research organizations, professional associations, and relevant special interest associations are eligible to apply.
- Public International Organizations (PIOs) and faith-based and community organizations are also eligible for the grant.
- All local institutions or affiliates of international organizations must be registered as a legal entity in Tanzania to be eligible for the grant. Local registration is not a requirement at application time but at the time of program intervention.
- All applications must be submitted in English in two separate parts- technical and cost application.
