The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) is accepting proposals for Overseas Refugee Assistance Programs for East Asia. Proposed activities should primarily support Burmese and other refugees and asylum seekers, including Rohingya, in Malaysia and Thailand.
Federal Award Information
- Proposed program start dates: May 1 – September 15, 2015
- Duration of Activity: Program plans from 12 to 36 months will be considered.
- Funding Limits: Project proposals must not be more than $2,000,000 (per year) or they will be disqualified.
Proposals must focus on one or more of the following sectors:
- Protection, including child protection and/or gender-based violence prevention and response as applicable
- Education (primary only)
- Healthcare (primary only)
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
- Livelihoods
- Emergency shelter
Eligibility Information
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with IRS, other than institutions of higher education, Nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status with IRS, other than institutions of higher education, and International Organizations are eligible to apply.
- PRM strongly encourages programs that target the needs of potentially vulnerable and underserved groups among the beneficiary population (women; children; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or intersex (LGBTI) individuals; older persons; the sick; persons with disabilities; and other minorities).
- Proposals must adhere to relevant international standards for humanitarian assistance.
- Proposals must have a concrete implementation plan with well-conceived objectives and indicators that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and reliable, time-bound, and trackable (SMART).
- PRM will accept proposals from any NGO working in the above mentioned sectors.
Proposals must be submitted via Grants.gov (not via GrantSolutions.gov) by deadline. Applications must be submitted under the authority of the Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) at the applicant organization.
