Deadline: 15 December 2015
The UNESCO office in Bangkok has issued a call for applications for the training on international standards and good practices in media policies for stakeholders in Thailand’s media sector.
The training will be conducted in English from 25-27 January 2016 in Bangkok.
UNESCO’s MDI embrace five major categories: a) legal and regulatory framework; b) plurality and diversity of media; c) media as a platform for democratic discourse; d) professional capacity building; and e) infrastructural capacity.
The objectives of the training are to:
– enhance capacities of policy-makers, media professionals and representatives of civil society organizations in international standards and good practices in the field of media development and media policies;
– present UNESCO’s MDI to researchers, journalism school teachers and media development partners in order to encourage research in this field based on a comprehensive framework for assessing the media landscape in Thailand;
– use the MDI as a reference for exploring how international standards and good practices can be incorporated into media policy formulation in Thailand.
