Interested youths are invited for training course on how to engage young people in culturally diverse activities, with a focus on faith and acceptance. This training program will be held at Leeds, United Kingdom on 13-18 May 2013. The goal of this training program is to involve youths in culturally diverse activities. This program is funded by Youth in Action Programme.
Objectives–
- To reflect on intercultural dialogue in youth work, on the role of religious and non-religious beliefs and values
- To identify new challenges in intercultural dialogue, such as ‘cultural racism’ and new forms of discrimination
- To exchange best practices through project examples on how to engage young people on interfaith action on local level
- To review resources available for interfaith youth work
- To consider the role of youth workers in addressing interfaith dialogue issues with diverse groups of young people in a changing world
- To equip participants with competences to implement future YiA projects dealing with interfaith dialogue.
Eligibility & Criteria-
This Training course is for 30 participants from Youth in Action Programme countries is recommended for youth leaders. The Youth in Action Programme countries are consisted of member states of EU, member states of EFTA (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and Turkey and Croatia as countries which are candidates for accession to the EU.
