The “women of the Mediterranean: next generation of leaders (WoMED)” is accepting applications for the 1st WoMED training program conducted by Sciences Po. It is a 2-week training program to guide young Mediterranean women for their professional and personal enhancement.
The program will be held at Paris. The women empowered through the program will become advocates for the advancement and promotion of gender equality in their own countries and professional sectors.The candidates will be required to illustrate high-intermediate proficiency in at least one language of instruction (French or English).
WoMED is cofounded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Women and Inter-ministerial Delegation to the Mediterranean. WoMED will contribute to develop a solidarity and mutual support network among participants in order to contribute to the creation of a long-term culture of gender parity.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates will be required to demonstrate their language level in the course of instruction in one of several ways:
- Option 1: provide an official language certification taken within the last three years (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, TOEIC, Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English results OR proof of studies in English).
- Option 2: Skype interview with the Programme Manager.
- WoMED trainees must be between 25 – 35 years old.
- Candidates only from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey are eligible to apply.
- Candidate should promote gender equality and must have a commitment to return to their home country and utilize their skills to fight for gender parity.
- Candidate must have good communication skills.
- Candidates also needs to be an agent of change as:
- Artists, musicians, dancers, film makers, etc.
- Entrepreneurs, CEO, COO, founders of ecommerce platforms, start-ups, companies etc.
- Politicians and researchers,
- Humanitarian or civil/women rights activists.
