Terre des Hommes Netherlands has announced a call for proposals to provide funding to NGOs in Uganda. The objective of this funding is to deliver change for vulnerable children. It intends to support larger projects for which it is identifying qualified and competent national partners that are able to deliver high quality interventions at scale.
Concept notes are invited from eligible organizations for projects that can cover a duration ranging from 1 year to 30 months. The maximum amount of funding for each year of the project is €200,000. The maximum amount for a 30 month proposal is therefore €500,000. Smaller bids are still welcome. All Concept Note must include context and problem analysis, organisational background, project content and an indicative budget. Candidates should also demonstrate prior experience in the chosen sector and a proven ability to manage grants of this size.
Eligible organisations must be locally registered in Uganda as a CBO/CSO or national (Ugandan) NGO, and be able to demonstrate at least 3 years experience in implementing high quality child focused projects. The focus of the proposed intervention should be the prevention of child exploitation, with particular interest in projects that target child labour and/or child trafficking and/or commercial sexual exploitation of children. Methodologies used to achieve success can be varied, incorporating for example, education approaches, a focus on social economic development for vulnerable communities, or appropriate health interventions. Proposals that can demonstrate partnerships between organisations (including joint bids) will be viewed favourably by the proposal assessors.
Applications must be received by the 18.00 (East Africa Time) on the 22nd March 2013. For more information, visit this link.
