The European Union (EU) has a long-standing relationship and cooperation with civil society organizations as well as with local and decentralized authorities in the field of development. It is part of the European Union’s (EU) commitment to fight poverty and promote the rule of law and adherence to fundamental freedoms set out in Article 177 (former Article 130u) of the Lisbon Treaty.
The global objective of the 2012 call for proposals for Ukraine is (i) to strengthen capacities of non-state actors and local authorities n Ukraine to ensure the delivery of administrative services in a fair, efficient and transparent manner and (ii) to promote the involvement of civil society in policy dialogue and reform process in Ukraine.
