The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is inviting applications for Support and Implement Behavioral Change Communication to Increase Uptake of Highly Effective Prevention Services and Behaviors in Selected Urban and Rural Populations in the Southern and Western Provinces of the Republic of Zambia. The projects aims to reduce new HIV infections by 50 percent while scaling up treatment, care and support by 2015.
The objectives of Zambia’s national HIV response program are-
- To accelerate and intensify prevention in order to reduce the annual rate of new HIV infections by 50%.
- To accelerate the provision of universal access to comprehensive and quality treatment, care and support for people living with HIV and AIDS, their caregivers and families, including services for TB, STI, and other opportunistic To mitigate the socio-economic impacts of HIV and AIDS especially among the most vulnerable groups, orphans and vulnerable children, people living with HIV (PLHIV) and their caregivers and families.
- To strengthen the systems which underpin Zambia’s response to HIV and AIDS.
- To strengthen the capacity for a well-coordinated and sustainably managed HIV and AIDS multisectoral response
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Eligible applicants that can apply for this funding opportunity will be Nonprofit with 501C3 IRS status, Nonprofit without 501C3 IRS status, For-profit organizations, Small, minority, and women-owned businesses, Universities, Colleges, Research institutions, Hospitals, Community-based organizations, Faith-based organizations, Federally recognized or state-recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribal governments, American Indian/Alaska native tribally designated organizations, Alaska Native health corporations, Urban Indian health organizations, Tribal epidemiology centers, State and local governments or their Bona Fide Agents (this includes the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianna Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau), Political subdivisions of States (in consultation with States), Non-domestic (non-U.S.) entity.
- A Bona Fide Agent is an agency/organization identified by the state as eligible to submit an application under the state eligibility in lieu of a state application.
