The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to Lusaka, Zambia is seeking applications from qualified organizations for funding a five-year program to support the Government of the Republic of Zambia’s (GRZ) goal of improving the quality of OVC services with strengthened systems and policy framework for coordination, planning, implementation; and monitoring and evaluation. The objective of the ZOVSS project is to strengthen the national OVC response through systems strengthening at the central level. Areas of focus include: promoting coordination and harmonized planning and implementation of OVC services of key ministries; strengthening existing government and community OVC structures; bolstering social welfare human resources; and enhancing the policy and regulatory environment for OVC. The ZOVSS project is also expected to collaborate and build the capacity of the other two systems strengthening projects: District OVC System Strengthening (DOSS) and Zambia OVC Management Information System (ZOMIS).
ELIGIBILITY –
Qualified applicants are limited to Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or for-profit companies willing to forego profit. Faith-based and community organizations that fit the criteria above are also eligible to apply. In support of the Agency’s interest in fostering a larger assistance base and expanding the number and sustainability of development partners, USAID encourages applications from potential new partners.
