European Instrument for Democracy & Human Rights (EIDHR) is seeking proposals for Country Based Support Scheme (CBSS) to support civil society to protect the rights of prisoners and of LGBTI people in Zambia. The goal of this program is to strengthen the human rights defenders and civil society interventions, notably in the area of support and promotion of the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Intersex (LGBTI) people.
Also the objective of this program is to support civil society interventions in the area of support, promotion and protection of the rights of prisoners, with a specific focus on the following categories of inmates: Women, pregnant women, circumstantial children, children and juveniles.
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 600,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 18 months nor exceed 24 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be non-profit-making
- be a Civil Society Organisation
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Zambia
- be able to demonstrate thorough and concrete experience in working in prisons in Zambia or in working on LGBTI rights in Zambia
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
