Talented artists are invited to participate in SHOKO festival in Zimbabwe. The mission of this festival is to use new forms of cultural, youth and media activism in the struggle for democracy and social justice in Zimbabwe. The objective is to build a new generation of artists and cultural activists who use their art for positive social change and open up democratic space through new forms of cultural, youth and media activism.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Talented poet, singer, emcee, b-boy, deejay, film maker, producer, musician or fashion designer are invited to apply.
Applicants must submit-
- A short biography of them self/group (include number of males and number of females in the act)
- A show of their work (i.e) links to a site where work can be located. Please do NOT send audio/video attachments to the email. Physical applications including CD’s can be delivered.
- Length of performance
- Artistic field and genre.
- Performance background
- Number of people involved in the act
- Tech rider
- Have applicant performed at Shoko before?
- Area of residence/region
- Do applicants have funding for their project/performance?
