The UK Department for International Development (DFID) provides grant support for partnerships between schools in the United Kingdom and schools in developing countries to build teachers’ skills and pupils’ understanding of global issues.
It supports schools to link around the world on global curriculum projects through partnerships. The programme offers an interactive online platform for collaboration, grants for teachers to visit their partner schools and professional development for teachers and school leaders. Funding available: the programme offers grants of £1,500 per school for reciprocal teacher visits between schools in the UK and in developing countries.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Connecting Classrooms is managed by the British Council, who have developed a dedicated online platform Schools Online to facilitate partnerships and guide schools through the programme.
