The last three questions in Section 3 seek to know more about the project as to its origin, its responsibility and the lessons that can be applied to it.
3.6 How and where did this initiative originate? Whose idea was it? Who was involved in the design of the project? How were the target beneficiaries involved?
There can be several ways for an idea to originate. You may have just observed the situation of poor women in a village and decided to do something for them. Soon the idea originates to undertake a set of activities.
or
You may have been associated with a previous project that recorded success in another place. You wish to replicate the same here and so you can explain it how and where this initiative originated. Whether it was your idea or you were inspired from another success story.
It is necessary to mention who was involved in the design of the project. Although you may have played a key role in the design, you have sought the help of various stakeholders such as the community, the local authorities, the service providers, local resource persons, external consultants and so on. Since primary stakeholders or beneficiaries i.e. the community will be directly receiving the benefit from the project, their role in designing the project is critical. Mention the process of carrying out participatory research with the community while planning the project.
