“4 steps – Supporting the deaf people on the labor market” project is a response to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities approved in 2006. It entails increasing access to knowledge and the labor market for people with different disabilities.
UNDP’s project office in Poland has announced the recruitment of participants for the project 4 steps – support of deaf people on the labor market II. The objective of the project is to prepare deaf people for entering the labor market and to take on or continue their education.
Support of deaf people on the labor market is based on various activities, depending on individual needs. These activities are directed at improving professional skills, gaining experience on the labor market and undertake employment by the deaf. To accomplish these goals, we provide under the project activity workshops, creating of individual action plans, professional training, rehabilitation internships, individual legal and psychological assistance and a number of other activities. Project participants will have permanent access to specialized consulting services in vocational guidance, involving the demarcation of individual paths of development in the project.
Eligibility for Participation
Project is directed to deaf people aged 15-64 with a certificate of disability due to hearing impairment above 70 dB, who are finishing middle schools, high schools and other education institutions, as well as for graduates of these schools – including adults and job seekers. People from deaf environment, especially parents, guardians and teachers are also invited to participate in the project.
4 steps – support of deaf people on the labor market II is funded by the European Social Fund under the Operational Program Human Capital (PO KL) and implemented in partnership with the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Fuga Mundi Foundation and with the Polish Association of the Deaf in Lódź.
