(2) Households: Households have suffered economic crisis during the conflict. As the proposed action will improve the livelihood environment of the conflict-affected communities, this in turn will impact upon households who will be able to access resources and livelihood options to increase their incomes, thus leading to economic security and improved quality of lives.
(3) Youths: The Maoist insurgency was fought mostly on the youth power, representing the underprivileged sections. Now, after the end of the conflict, many of these youths find themselves out of work. The action would involve youths in reconstruction activities and in building their entrepreneurial skills especially ICT and facilitate employment for them.
(4) Men: The role of men has now been recognised as critical for promoting and respecting women’s rights. The action will build perspectives of men on gender rights and help them benefit from various livelihood interventions such as savings and credit facilities.
(5) Local NGOs: The local NGOs will be the long-term facilitators, providing support services to communities even after the proposed action comes to an end. The action will build the capacity of NGOs and help them achieve organizational sustainability, initiate holistic community-based services and mobilize sustainable resources. The process will also strengthen a business relationship between NGOs and the communities.
(6) Local Government Institutions: Local government institutions face lack of organizational and management skills, in spite of their resourceful role in serving communities. The action will build their capacities for better management of services and generate synergy with their institutional resources so that NGO-government-community collaboration can work in the best possible manner for overall development.
