The Ministry of Information and Communications, Government of Tonga has issued the call for proposals for the Non State Actors Component of the 10th European Development Fund. The global objective is to build capacity of Non State Actors to actively participate in the development of the country, in relation to EU areas of interest which are economic development and trade, public finance management, energy and gender policies.
The Grants size amount for this second round of call of proposals is 162,000 EURO. The Call of Proposals is specifically focused to support 2 LOTs; Lot 1 for the Non State Actors of with Grant size amount of 82,000 EURO and Lot 2 for Private Sector Development with 80,000 EURO.
On 1 May 2009, the Ministry of Information and Communications was established by the Government of Tonga. It is the new engine for transition into a more connected and empowered society between its citizens and government, thus promoting a more accountable and transparent Government.
