Proposals are accepted for Civil Society Organisation Umbrella Cooperation Programme offered by Embassy of Sweden. The objective of this program is to contribute to an environment supportive of the efforts of men and women, boys and girls, living in poverty, to improve their living conditions. Sweden intends to achieve this goal by supporting CSOs, which contribute to Ethiopia’s poverty reduction efforts.
Objectives-
- Strengthening the role of capacity of civil society and promote a pluralistic society.
- Address marginalized areas and groups: i.e. women, children and youth, as well as gender equality, strengthening women’s and youth´s economic empowerment, and addressing harmful traditional practices and gender based violence.
Thematic Areas-
- Undeserved and marginalized target groups, i.e. women, children and youth.
- Gender equality, strengthening women’s and youth´s economic empowerment and addressing harmful traditional practices as well as gender based violence.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Eligible applicants are umbrella organisations, networks, consortiums or other CSOs (including NGOs) with-
- Experience of working with sub-grantees, both CBOs and other CSOs (including NGOs), as strategic partner.
- Capacity to support CSOs/CBOs targeting the disadvantaged segments of the population in order to enable these women and men, girls and boys, to improve their living conditions.
- Capacity-building experience.
- Proven thematic expertise in the area for which applied.
- Capacity to mainstream gender into development programmes.
- Well-established organisation with ethical, open, transparent and democratic value system in place.
- Proven consistent financial management and audit procedures in place, along with capacity to produce and submit the required financial, narrative, and audit reports with management letters and management responses.
- Proven capability and experience in managing donor funds.
- Proven excellent internal management and control systems to guarantee quality and accuracy in building on results for learning, planning, implementation and follow-up of programme activities.
- Proven risk awareness and well-developed risk mitigation mechanisms in place.
