The Canada-Latin America and the Caribbean Research Exchange Grants (LACREG) is announced to strengthen international partnerships and consolidate emerging networks among academic researchers from Canada and Latin America and the Caribbean. The goal of this program is to support small collaborative research activities which will contribute to the creation, dissemination and sustained application of knowledge in the development process in at least one area of the International Development Research Centre’s thematic priority.
This program is supported by International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Thematic areas for this program are as follows-
- Agriculture and the Environment
- Global Health Policy
- Science and Innovation
- Social and Economic Policy
Eligibility & Criteria-
- In order to be eligible for a grant, Canadian applicants/research partners must meet one of the following criteria-
- Regular, full-time faculty member (i.e. tenure or tenure-tracked) with a PhD at a Canadian university which is a member of AUCC
- Regular, full-time researcher with a PhD at a recognized Canadian research institute
- Full-time graduate student (master’s, PhD, post-doctorate) at a Canadian university which is a member of AUCC
- Full-time graduate student at a recognized Canadian research institute
- In order to be eligible for a grant, Latin American and Caribbean applicants/research partners must meet one of the following criteria-
- Regular, full-time faculty member with a PhD in a recognized and established institution of higher education in one of the eligible LAC countries
- Regular, full-time researcher with a PhD at a recognized and established research institute in one of the LAC eligible countries
- Full-time graduate student (master’s, PhD, post doctorate) at a recognized institution of higher education in one of the LAC eligible countries
- Full-time graduate student at a recognized research institute in one of the LAC eligible countries.
