Europe Aid is inviting applications from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Northern Belize for Economic Diversification of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Northern Belize Grant 2014. Aimed at reducing poverty and improving the living standards of the rural population in the northern districts of Corozal and Orange Walk, Economic Diversification of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Northern Belize Grant program purposes to contribute to the reduction of poverty by improving sustainable livelihoods, and creating employment and income generation opportunities for vulnerable sugarcane farmers and workers, and other rural populations in northern Belize. Improved crop and livestock management, and Post-harvest management and agro-processing are the two specific areas of focus for the grant program.
Total budget of the program is € 800,000. The action can be of 24 to 30 months and the themes or sectors included vary from market access and competitiveness for MSMEs; Skills development, capacity building, training; and Small business support structures and services in agriculture and agro-processing.
Eligibility Criteria –
- The applicant must be legal, non-profit making persons from non-governmental organizations, public sector operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organizations as defined by Article 43 of the Implementing Rules to the EC Financial Regulation.
- Applicant(s) must have completed at least 1 project of a similar size and in a related field of the action being requested in the grant within the last five years.
