USAID is accepting concept papers on ‘Enhancing Resilience and Economic Growth in Somalia’ from US and non-US non-profit organizations to conduct project in Somalia. The project aims to increase the resilience of Somali households and communities to recurrent shocks by increasing the capacity of households and communities to adapt to recurrent shocks; building on the ecological, social, and economic capital of households and communities; and promoting robust learning of communities, the implementer, USAID, and others.
Concept papers and applications should also address how proposed projects will sequence, layer, and integrate humanitarian assistance and development interventions in a way that reduces households and communities’ dependence on humanitarian assistance and facilitates inclusive local economic development. Up to three cooperative agreements will be awarded for three-year implementation period. The total funding available for ‘Enhancing Resilience and Economic Growth in Somalia’ project is approximately $15 million.
Eligibility Criteria –
- US and Non-US non-profit organizations; and colleges and universities; Public International Organizations are eligible to apply for the opportunity but US government departments and agencies and foreign governmental organizations are not eligible for funding.
- The proposed project must take place in Somalia.
- USAID will not accept Applications from individuals. All applicants must be legally recognized organizational entities under applicable law. Applicants must complete all required steps (if any) with the host government to legally operate their program before implementing their program.
- Applicants must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and must include the date of their CCR expiration.
