Proposals are being accepted for European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR)-Country Based Support Schemes (CBSS) for Swaziland under European Commission. The European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) is an EU instrument for promoting democracy and human rights worldwide.
The mission of this programme is to contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law, and respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms, within the framework of the EU’s policy on development cooperation, and economic, financial and technical cooperation with third countries, and consistent with the European Union’s foreign policy as a whole.
Objectives:
- Pursuit of common agendas for human rights and democratic reform
- Enhancing political representation and participation
- Initiatives to enhance the inclusiveness and pluralism of civil society in Swaziland
Grants requested minimum of up to € 100,000 and maximum of up to € 150, 000.
Eligibility criteria:
- Be a legal person
- Be non-profit-making
- Be established in a Member State of the European Union or Swaziland or SADC member state
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and Belong to one of the following categories as defined as per Article 10 of the EIDHR Regulations : civil society organisation, including non-governmental non-profit making organisations and independent political foundations, community based organisations,private sector non-profit agencies, institutions and organisations, networks thereof at local, national, regional and international level
- Be able to demonstrate capacity to manage activities corresponding to the size of the project for which the grant is requested.
