The Japan Foreign Trade Council (JFTC) is calling students, young researchers and business people around the globe to participate in the JFTC Essay competition 2014 and express their opinions on matters of national and international importance.
JFTC is private-sector organization in the area of international trade with nationwide membership of private companies and organizations.
Prizes
- 1,000,000 Yen – Grand Prize
- 200,000 Yen (each) – Prize of Excellence to 3 essays
Announcement of the award winners will be made on 12 December 2014. International winners will be provided round-trip air-ticket to Tokyo, Japan to attend the award ceremony to be held on 7 Jaunuary 2015.

Eligibility Criteria
- Entrant can be the national of any country.
- Essays must be submitted in the specified format sheet.
- Applicants must present both essay title and summary for the application to be considered complete. Incomplete applications are not evaluated.
- All submissions must be original and should be submitted with complete fill out of an entry form.
- Previously published materials are not eligible to be submitted.
- Essays in English must be 4,000 words & in Japanese language must be 10,000 characters. Essay summary- 400 words in English & 800 characters in Japanese.
