The Local Economic Development short course focuses on strengthening the economic capacity of a regional community. The Participants will be provided with strategies, tools and approaches to improve conditions for job creation and economic growth.
The latest expertise and insights will be made available in this course, through a combination of lectures from visiting experts, exercises and study visits. Participant will have the opportunity to share his experiences with them and ask their opinion about issues you deal with.
Learning objectives
This course will help to:
- assess the economic and political context for regional development
- identify challenges and opportunities for strengthening the local economy and job creation together with stakeholders at local, regional and national level
- develop approaches for strategic local economic planning
- get acquainted with practical tools for supporting the local economy.
After successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a certificate of The Hague Academy for Local Governance.
