World Bank is inviting proposals to carry out and support research evaluating the impact of programs on alleviating poverty and improving people’s lives under Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF).
Thematic areas-
- early childhood nutrition, health, and development
- water supply, sanitation, and hygiene linked to human development outcomes
- basic education service delivery
- health systems and service delivery
How to apply?
The application process is a two-step process-
- The first stage requires completing the online SIEF Proposal Form and submitting a completed Budget Proposal Template by email by 5:00 P.M. (EST) November 1, 2013
- In the second stage, these selected proposals will receive seed funding up to US$25,000 to develop a full technical proposal with detailed budget for the impact evaluation.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Countries classified as low, lower-middle, and upper-middle income are eligible to submit proposals.
- SIEF will finance impact evaluations in the areas of: i) Early Childhood Nutrition, Health and Development, ii) Basic Education Service Delivery, iii) Health Systems and Service Delivery, and iv) Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene for Sustainable Human Development. These research areas were chosen because of their strategic policy significance for development agencies and country policymakers. All evaluations must be capable of being easily expanded and must be relevant for low-income countries.
- Proposals from government programs, NGOs, and bilateral aid agencies are welcome, but they need the support of a World Bank staff member.
