Proposal are accepted for Support to Local Initiatives on Regional and Rural Development in Azerbaijan under Europe Aid. This mission of this program is to contribute to the reduction of regional socio-economic disparities and to the diversification of the economy by creating conditions for balanced and sustainable economic development across all regions of Azerbaijan.
Objectives–
- To support economic regeneration, job creation and human resources development in rural areas of Azerbaijan
- To create conditions in regions, which are conducive to business development and income generation (following a value-chain approach) by enhancing access to markets, credit, business services and know-how
- To foster innovative participatory approaches to regional/rural development and territorial planning
- To strengthen the capacities of community-based organizations, producer associations, farmers’ groups, women groups and local authorities to better advocate for their needs and actively participate in the economic development of the regions
- To support small-scale market-driven income generating activities following a value-chain approach with special emphasis on vulnerable groups
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 3,000,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be Non-State Actors (NSA) constituted in accordance with the legislation in force in the country concerned or international (inter-governmental) organisations as defined by Article 43 of the Implementing Rules to the EC Financial Regulation
- be established in the Republic of Azerbaijan, or in a Member State of the European Union. This obligation does not apply to international organisations
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
