Proposals are accepted for Support to the State Statistical Committee in Modernization of the National Statistics System of the Republic of Azerbaijan in line with European standards. The purpose of this program is to improve the data on the socioeconomic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to bring the national indicators to international standards, and to develop new statistical data which describe the integration of the country’s economy into the world economy.
Objectives-
- Improve legislation in accordance with the recommendations of the Eurostat
- Elaborate a short- and medium term development strategy for harmonisation with European standards in the relevant statistical areas
- Take steps to restructure the statistical services to ensure an optimal balance between available resources and data quality needs
The total budget for this Twinning Project is €1,200,000 for the duration of up to 21 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Only public administrations and mandated bodies of EU Member States may apply through EU Member State’s National Contact Points
- Improve the conformity of national classification systems and statistical methodology with EU standards
- Accelerate work to fully apply ESA 95 (European System of Accounts)
- Modernise information and communication technologies in the national statistical system
- Improve the quality and coverage of the business register
