Seasoned practitioners with at least 10 years of experience in management position are encouraged to become the Senior Fellows of the Synergos. The Synergos Senior Fellows Network invites leaders from non-profit, non-governmental organizations focusing on poverty alleviation, social injustice, and/or community development.
This is a three-year fellowship program in which the fellows should attend the annual all-Fellows meetings, be open to collaborating with peers on regional or global action themes, make them available for at least one field assignment, and make at least one significant contribution of knowledge or experience in their field of expertise or interest.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be currently in a full-time executive position of a civil society organization that focuses on poverty alleviation, social justice or community development.
- Applicants must have experience and/or intend to play a leading role in multi-stakeholder partnership processes to address complex development challenges.
- Applicants must have a demonstrable commitment to addressing the systemic causes of poverty and inequity and present a compelling vision for change in their area of work.
- Applicants must have a record of distinguished accomplishment as a leader addressing issues of poverty, inequity and/or social injustice.
- Applicants must have a demonstrable commitment to the participation of and accountability to the community they serve, as well as credibility and legitimacy from that community to speak authoritatively about its issues.
- Applicants must be committed to developing and enhancing leadership qualities that successfully create and sustain effective working relationships among key partners and stakeholders across society’s sectors.
- Applicants must demonstrate personal characteristics suitable for network collaboration.
- Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English.
