Thomson Reuters Foundation is inviting applications from individuals in Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey to participate in ‘Economic and Political Reporting from Southeast Europe’ program to be conducted in London, UK from 28 April – 9 May 2014 and in Berlin from 15-26 September. The major aim of the program is to foster quality analysis and reporting on economic issues, enhance coverage on topics that are central to the region’s economic and political development and encourage regional networking among journalists.
The cost for flights, accommodation and living expenses for and during the program period will be covered.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must be full-time journalists who have been working for at least two years with a recognized publication, website, radio or television station.
- Applicants must have a portfolio that includes experience in economic journalism or must otherwise demonstrate a strong interest in economic and political issues.
- Applying journalists must be citizens of Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia or Turkey.
- Applicants must have permission from their employer to take part in the program.
- Applicants must be fluent in English.
- Two recent examples of published work must be submitted. TV/Radio journalists can send in their scripts and a brief summary.
Application form should be accompanied by a short biography, story on the state of applicant’s national economy, a statement, and work samples (2).
