Call for Applications: UNESCO’s Iran Higher Education Scholarships 2016 for Afghan and Pakistani Nationals

UNESCO Office in Tehran is currently seeking applications for its Iran Higher Education Scholarships to promote the transformative power of education as a catalyst for human development. The Islamic Republic of Iran intends to leverage its strong reputation for higher education and research in the region.

Scholarship Categories

  • The Iran Higher Education Scholarships for Afghan Nationals: Funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Iran Higher Education Scholarships for Afghan Nationals are competitive scholarships that support high-achieving Afghan individuals to undertake studies at the Bachelor’s, Masters and PhD levels in Iran’s outstanding universities.
  • The Iran Higher Education Scholarships for Pakistani Nationals: Funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Iran Higher Education Scholarships for Pakistani Nationals are competitive scholarships that support high-achieving Pakistani individuals to undertake studies at the Bachelor’s, Masters and PhD levels in Iran’s outstanding universities.

  • Dormitory accommodation for single scholars (Scholars accompanied by family members may be provided dormitory accommodation depending on the availability of rooms)
  • Medical insurance coverage for the scholarship holder
  • Student visa
  • Monthly living allowance upon request of the applicant

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be:

  • A citizen of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Islamic Republic of Pakistan
  • Residing in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Pakistan at the time of application
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Exceptional and motivated individuals with a very high level of academic achievement
