UK Youth and Starbucks are inviting groups in England, Scotland and Wales who are working with young people not in education or employment to apply for grants of up to £1,000.
The funding is to be used by the young people to develop and run projects in their local community.The project will need to benefit up to 50 members of the community.
Projects should provide a positive benefit to the local community and look to enhance the young leaders employability and leadership skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- There needs to be two young people leading the project.
- Young people must both be aged between 16 and 24.
- The two young people must not be in full time education or employment.
- Both young people will have the opportunity to gain the level 2 QCF 10 hour Unit- Leadership in Peer Activities.
- There must be a youth worker / organisation supporting the young people through the project.
Project Guidelines
- Starbucks Youth Action funding is to be used by young people not in education or employment to develop and run projects in their local community.
- The project will need to benefit up to 50 members of the community.
- There will need to be support in place to help young people carry out their project.
- If successful the supporting organisation will receive and monitor the funding.
- Please be aware that if the project requires certain ‘deal breakers’ in place for it to run, these must already be established. E.g. if permission is needed from the council to use their land, this must already be in place
Starbucks Youth Action Funding is not to be used for salaries, for projects outside of the UK or to directly fund other organisations. - If successful the two young people and support worker must sign the terms and conditions and adhere to the agreements set out therein.
