The Global Fund for children is working to improve the conditions of children in need worldwide. It provides small grants to innovative community-based organizations working with many of the world’s most vulnerable children and youth.
The Global Fund for Children transforms the lives of children on the edges of society—trafficked children, refugees, child laborers—and help them regain their rights and reach their potential.
Since its founding, the fund has touched the lives of more than 9 million children worldwide and as of 2015, it has awarded over $34 million in grants to more than 600 grassroots organizations in 78 countries.
Goal
The funds goal is to invest early, help its partners increase capacity, and leave them bigger and stronger than when it found them.
Work
The fund identifies innovative groups as they emerge and over the course of three to six years, help them to grow and thrive using flexible, strategic investments.
Eligibility Criteria
- With rare exceptions, a prospective grantee partner’s annual budget should not exceed $200,000.
- Prospective grantee partners must work directly with children and youth.
- Prospective grantee partners must have systems and processes for ensuring responsible management of funds.
- Prospective grantee partners must be led by individuals who live and work in the community.
- A prospective grantee partner must be registered with the local or national government as a nonprofit organization.
