Deadline: 20 August 2015
Applications are sought for ADMIRE project 2015!
ADMIRE project is a unique opportunity to develop local climate mitigation and/or adaptation ideas together with experts in the field, into financeable and implementable frameworks for action.
ADMIRE supports the development of implementable mitigation and adaptation actions with private sector involvement. In principle, all non-Annex I countries are eligible for support, but a geographically balanced distribution of activities will be sought.
UNEP DTU Partnership together with UNOPS has received 3.5 million USD from the Danish government to implement ADMIRE.

Examples of Projects
- Mitigation project – Waste management in Peru: The waste management policy in Peru is not being enforced. A civil servant is approached by a private company proposing a clean-up of the country’s unmanaged landfills emitting significant amounts of methane. It is decided to aim at developing a NAMA and an application is submitted to the ADMIRE project through the electronic application system.
- Adaptation project – Capacity development for coastal zone development and implementation in Tanzania: The coastal zone in Tanzania will be significantly impacted by the impacts of climate change, including sea level rise, increased storm frequency, changed rainfall patterns and salt water intrusion just to mention a few. The coastal zone is thus a top priority in the NAP process, which Tanzania is starting up based on the LEG technical guidelines.
