The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is a major philanthropic initiative founded by those deeply concerned over the lack of political action and the lack of general public awareness around the devastating future consequences implied by climate change. The foundation promotes climate and energy policies to reduce Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions and helps Europe play a stronger international leadership role to mitigate climate change. The foundation aims for the necessary and efficient transition to a low-carbon economy to avoid high risks for humanity from climate change.
