The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) invites US and non-US qualified organizations to apply for program entitled ‘Sustainable Fisheries Management Project’ in Ghana. The major purpose of the project is to reduce the over-exploitation of marine resources. The program will contribute to USAID’s achieving FTF’s high-level goals in Ghana – improve food security, promote economic growth and alleviate poverty – over five-years (2014-2019).
The anticipated total federal funding amount is approximately $35,000,000.
Potential Areas of Support
- Capacity building of universities to advance the science and research agendas necessary to better predict the impacts of climate change on diverse sectors.
- Improve spatial analysis and promote public dialogue related to the challenges of flooding in a rapidly developing coastal zone.
- Technical assistance to stakeholders in the design and deployment of appropriate technological and management practices.
The grantee will respond to climate vulnerabilities and promote resilience by empowering stakeholders to adapt to climate change.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be any qualified US or non-US non-governmental organization (including, but not limited to, Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs) and for-profit entities) or Public International Organization (PIOs).
- USAID encourages applications from potential new partners.
- Applicants must have a politically neutral humanitarian mandate, a commitment to nondiscrimination with respect to beneficiaries and adherence to equal opportunity employment practices.
