The program aims to strengthen the academic, political and social ties between Turkey and Germany as well as Turkey and Europe. As part of the Istanbul Policy Center – Sabancı University – Stiftung Mercator Initiative it is based on the premise that in an increasingly globalized world the acquisition of knowledge and the exchange of people and ideas are the preconditions to jointly prepare for the challenges of the 21st century.
Mercator – IPC Fellowships are available to outstanding young academics and professionals who are at the beginning of their career and work in one of three thematic areas:
- EU/German-Turkish relations
- Climate change
- Education
The program is based on the premise that in an increasingly globalized world, acquisition of knowledge and an exchange of ideas and people are the preconditions for meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
