JournalismFund.eu is accepting project applications from journalists especially from EU and EFTA countries for its grant project – Cross-Border Project. Major purpose of the grants is to promote quality journalism in Europe by giving journalists the chance to carry out journalistic research projects.
Original, innovative and intensive project that is different from regular journalism, which can include cross-border research, networking between colleagues, established and innovative investigative methods are highly encouraged to apply for the grants. The fund supports the costs involved in journalistic research which may be travel, translation, access to pay-databases or time to research; office costs, investments in camera/computer/production is not covered.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Teams of journalists from two or more countries who research a European Union story for publication to the each of their target group and towards EU decision makers are eligible to apply for the grants.
- Applicants must be journalists from EU and EFTA countries. Team members can be from outside these countries if relevant for the story.
- Applicants must be working as professional journalists.
- The project must be investigative journalism research relevant for audiences in Europe and the story must bring significant new information to audience.
