The European Commission is seeking proposals from organizations to fund transnational and national projects that contribute to enhance the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime with a motive of facilitating effective access to justice for all.
Grant Information
EU will provide grant requested with a minimum of EUR 75 000.
Focus Areas
- Promote equality between women and men and the rights of the child.
- Prohibition of discrimination based on any of the grounds.
Priorities
EU prioritizes to contribute to the correct implementation and effective monitoring of:
- Directive 2013/48/EU on the right of access to a lawyer in criminal proceedings.
- Commission Recommendation C(2013) 8179/2 on the right to legal aid in criminal proceedings.
- Commission Recommendation C(2013) 8178/2 on safeguards for vulnerable persons suspected or accused in criminal proceedings.
Eligibility Criteria
- Legally constituted public or private organisations, or international organisations from EU member states except UK and DK are eligible to apply for the program.
- Non-profit organization that is legal entity by its legal form non-profit-making or has a legal or statutory obligation not to distribute profits to its shareholders or individual members is also eligible to apply for the program.
