Winston Churchill Memorial Trust award Travelling Fellowships to British citizens from all walks of life to travel overseas, to bring back knowledge and best practice for the benefit of others in their UK professions and communities.
Fellows receive a travel grant to cover return and internal travelling, daily living and insurance within the countries visited.
The Fellowships are to enable men and women, from all walks of life and every corner of the UK to acquire knowledge and experience abroad. In the process they gain a better understanding of the lives and cultures of people overseas and, on their return, their expertise is enhanced greatly, as is their effectiveness at work and their contribution to the community.
Eligibility-
- British Citizens under the 1981 Nationality Act, who are resident in the UK (exceptions for British Dependencies and Armed Forces/Diplomats if serving abroad), or
- Born and resident in Northern Ireland, and entitled to assert British Citizenship under the terms of the 1998 Belfast Agreement
- Anyone aged 18 and above on 31st December 2012.
- People with a passion for their subject who cannot resist sharing their passion and thus inspiring others.
- Existing Churchill Fellows may not re-apply.
