University of Oslo, The Department of Social Anthropology is pleased to invite applications for Post-doctoral Research Fellowship with the aim of developing new theoretical insights within the framework established for this project.
The Department wishes to recruit a candidate with excellent research qualifications within Social Anthropology. The applicant should within the research outlined in the Anthropos and the Material, Challenges to Anthropology project be able to relate to one or more of the project’s three core areas: domestication practices, ritual practices and economic practices.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Applicants must hold a PhD. or equivalent in social anthropology. The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.
- Applicants must have good spoken and written command of a Scandinavian language and/or English.
- Applicants must provide a project description including a progress plan (no more than 10 pages) outlining the work to be undertaken for their proposed project. The project description must include the theme of the project, issues to be examined, the chosen theoretical and methodological approach, publication plan and an overall individual schedule for the four year period (with reference to the schedule for the Anthropos and the Material, Challenges to Anthropology project).

- Project description and progress plan (no more than 10 pages) for the work to be undertaken during the course of the term of appointment
- CV (complete list of education, positions, pedagogical experience, administrative experience and other qualifying activities)
- A complete list of publications
- Copies of educational certificates and letters of recommendation and references
