Two vacancies are vacant for Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Department of Educational Research, Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Oslo.
The successful applicants will be part of the research group “Higher Education: Institutional dynamics and Knowledge cultures” HEIK at the Faculty of Education. The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines. It is a pre-requisite that the applicants are able to complete a project and publish articles in internationally recognised academic journals during the fellowship period. The selected candidates are expected to actively participate in academic communities in the Department and in the HEIK research group. The appointed Fellows are expected to contribute to the theoretical and methodological development of the research area.
Both Postdoctoral Fellowships concern a fixed-term position. The appointment is for a period of 3 years. An agreement can be made that up to 10% of the position consists of required duties. The other 90% is dedicated to research. The appointments are made in accordance with current guidelines for Postdoctoral Fellowship appointments. For both Fellows a contract will be entered regarding the appointment period, and the plan for the completion of the research project will be included in the contract.
Duties and responsibilities–
- The completion of a research project in accordance with the project plan
- National and international academic publication of research results
- Dissemination of research results to relevant professional communities and the general public
- Teaching and supervision within the required duties share of the position
Eligibility-
- The successful candidates must hold a doctoral degree. Applicants who have not yet defended their dissertation must have submitted their dissertation for assessment by the application deadline
- International publications beyond the doctoral dissertation will be given particular emphasis in the evaluation of applications.
- The successful candidates must be able to publish in English
- Active and positive participation in the research group and the Horizon project require the ability to collaborate in a team
- It is an advantage if the applicant understands Norwegian and is able to express him/herself verbally and in writing in a Scandinavian language
- Experience of and interest in cross-disciplinary work will also be advantageous, as the research team will consist of scholars with diverse social science backgrounds.
