The African Studies Center and International Institute for Asian Studies (ASC-IIAS) Joint Fellowship Program aimed at researchers whose work is informed by current theoretical debates in the social sciences and humanities over global connectivity and who are able to critically engage with shifting paradigms in “area studies” beyond the ways in which these have traditionally been conceived in the West, is accepting fellowship applications.
The fellowship period is maximum 6 months for candidates with PhD. The program invites proposals that go beyond a mere analysis of current issues associated with African-Asian comparative economic developments or Chinese investments in Africa.
The fellows will receive a monthly grant to cover the cost of living and housing.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must have a PhD and must be a researcher.
- Research Proposal must demonstrate its depth and the results afterwards.
