AXA Research Fund (ARF) has announced the second campaign for funding the Post-Doctoral fellowships and seeks applications from the AXA referenced institutions to propose the candidates for the same.
The AXA Research Fund annually grants thirty Post-Doctoral fellowships in two separate grant periods.
Which institutions are eligible to apply for fellowships?
- Only institutions that have been referenced by the Fund may apply for these fellowships. No individual student applications will be accepted or reviewed. Please liaise with your institution to know if it’s referenced.
- Please note that although a candidate may be presented by the same institution, each candidate cannot submit the same proposal several times.
- An applicant can be presented by only one institution.
- Applications must be submitted by the research institutions to which the host laboratory is attached and where the Ph.D. work is to be carried out
- The institution must be able to host and accommodate the applicant for funding in accordance with prevailing legislation in the country where the institution is located.1 this institution must be the same as that presenting the Post-Doctoral candidate.
Areas of research eligible for funding
The Post-Doctoral work financed by the Fund must fall within the scope of one of the themes identified by the AXA Scientific Board:
Life risks: Aging and long term care, Addictions and risky behaviors, and emerging biomedical risks
SocioEconomic Risks: Geopolitical risks, Macro-economic risks and Large corporate risks
Environmental risks: Natural catastrophes, Risks linked to climate change
Geographic scope of funding
The AXA Research Fund supports:
Candidates wishing to do a Post-Doc in an institution established in or citizens of:
- one of the member states of the European Union
- one of the countries associated to the EU within the meaning of the 7th Framework Programme of the EU (FP7, i.e. Switzerland, Israel, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Serbia, Albania and Montenegro)
- in Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, India)
- in Latin America (Brazil and Mexico).
