The Global Health Corps invites fellowship application from individuals around the world for different fellowship positions in the United States. This is an opportunity to work in organizations in the United States for a period of one year. Global Health Corps’ mission is to build a movement for global health equity, and the ability to reach as many people as possible is a key part of that mission.
The fellows are provided living stipends, housing, health insurance, work expenses, and all travel required for fellowship participation. They will also receive up to $600 in professional development funds. In addition to covering these expenses, all fellows receive a completion award of $1500 at the end of the fellowship.
The fellowship period will be from mid-June to mid-August of the following year. This includes attending a two-week Summer Training Institute in June/July, followed by twelve months working on the ground on the fellowship, and a final group exit meeting in August. Fellows travel directly from Training to their placement site. The Training Institute will run from June 27th to July 12th 2015. Fellows fly directly from Training to their placement sites (travel is arranged by GHC).
Each fellowship teams consist of two fellows. All teams are cross-cultural, with one fellow from the host country (the ‘national fellow’), and one fellow from outside the host country (the ‘international fellow’).

- Why do you want to be a GHC fellow? (200 words)
- Tell us about a time when you were part of a group that faced an obstacle and you came up with a creative solution. What was creative about this solution? Please focus on your role and its impact on the group. (300 words)
- Describe a time when you identified a social problem or injustice and took action to make a change. What did you do and what did you learn? (250 words)
- Describe a specific time when you acted according to your principles or values. (200 words)
- Additionally, applicants need to mention position choices and write essays on the same – Why are you applying for this particular position, and what skills or experiences do you have that qualify you for this position? What do you hope to accomplish in this position during your fellowship year? (Maximum 175 words each)
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be able to meet the academic and professional requirements of the position s/he is applying for. No past experience in healthcare is required.
- If the applicant’s graduation ceremony is yet to take place, the school must be able to provide confirmation that s/he has completed the degree.
