The Tanzania Media Fund (TMF) is an exciting initiative that seeks to promote independence and quality in media, with a particular focus on public interest and investigative journalism. The Fund believes that an independent media is the lifeblood of a free and democratic society.
Eligibility:
- A firm commitment to working in journalism in Tanzania
- Have been covering variety of issues but have a passion to specialize in maternal health, business and economics or the extractive industry (oil, gas and minerals).
- Should be ready to undertake a significant stretch of travel for considerable periods of up to six weeks away from home during the programme.
- Knowledge of English and Kiswahili
- Interests in the “New Media” is an added advantage.
