Consortium for Peace Studies (CPS) at the University of Calgary, Canada is currently inviting applications for award of two $6000 research fellowships. Canadian as well as international students are encouraged to apply for these fellowships.
Founded in 2005, CPS aims at promoting peace research and work in Canada as well as around the world. The CPS also works to encourage research that has the potential of application in advancing peace in local and international arenas.
Fellowship 1: Research Fellowship in Peace Studies
This Fellowship is held at the University of Calgary and can range from two to eight months between the periods of April 2012 to March 2013. A stipend of $6,000 (Canadian) is associated with this Fellowship.
This Fellowship is open to all disciplines so long as the research is directly related to peace studies or conflict transformation.
Fellowship 2: Dr. Arthur Clark Research Fellowship in Global Citizenship
This Fellowship is held at the University of Calgary and can range from two to eight months between the periods of April 2012 to March 2013. A stipend of $6,000 (Canadian) is associated with this Fellowship.
This Fellowship is open to both scholars and practitioners working in areas including but not limited to: the true costs of conflict; conflict prevention; human health and well-being; community-building; International Human Rights and/or Humanitarian Law; the link between humanity and the environment; the true meaning of citizenship; post-conflict reconstruction and resolution; factors contributing to human disease and unhealthy living conditions; democracy and accountability in government; mediation and negotiation in post-conflict areas. The successful Fellow will be expected to conduct independent research while at the University of Calgary and give a public lecture on his or her research.
Eligibility
Candidates holding an academic, administrative or other appropriate appointment at an accredited post-secondary institution are eligible to apply, provided the terms of the appointment include the expectation of independent scholarship.
Graduate students with a strong history of academic and/or professional accomplishments who are registered full-time in a graduate program leading to a research degree that involves the completion and presentation of a research project, independent of individual course requirements, are eligible.

Fellows are responsible for ensuring that appropriate visa arrangements are made.
