The International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) is seeking applications for ICO Fellowships Program in order to help promising young ophthalmologists from developing countries improve their practical skills and broaden their perspectives of ophthalmology.The duration of the fellowship program is three months.
The program is intended to be flexible to meet the needs of different countries and individuals.
ICO’s Mission
ICO’s mission is to enhance ophthalmic education and improve access to the highest quality eye care in order to preserve and restore vision for the people of the world.
Award Information
- ICO will provide an award of up to US$6000 to cover travel and living expenses for three months.
- ICO will award approximately 60 three-month fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Ophthalmologists from developing countries are eligible to apply for the fellowship program.
- Applicant must be under 40 years of age at the time of applying.
- Applicant must return to home country after the training, resume previous positions, and apply the knowledge gained during the fellowship.
- Applicant must be reasonably fluent in the language of the fellowship training center.
