Deadline: 12 August 2015
The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is inviting eligible women journalists for its first reporting trip to the Central African Republic. Six women journalists will have the opportunity to travel with the IWMF to report on themes of civil society, governance and humanitarian issues from November 2 – 17, 2015.
The IWMF designed this reporting fellowship program to support journalists interested in pursuing stories in under-reported countries that go beyond the well-established narrative of political instability, armed conflicts, and humanitarian crisis in the region. To date, 44 IWMF reporting fellows have covered a wide range of topics including issues of empowerment, democracy, food security, and conservation efforts. Their work has been produced and published by leading media outlets around the world.
Benefits
The IWMF arranges travel and in-country logistics for all Fellows. The IWMF also covers fellowship-related expenses within the framework of the reporting trip including, visas, travel, lodging, meals and fixers/interpreters, unless a selected journalist’s news organization wishes to assume these costs.
